The Parker’s Crossroads Battlefield is the site of a major Civil War battle in West Tennessee led by C.S. Gen. Nathan Bedford Forest and U.S. Colonel Cyrus L. Dunham. In the summer of 2013 members of the Parker’s Crossroads Battlefield Association requested that the Tennessee Civil War National Heritage Area up date the exhibit space in their Visitors Center. As part of the development of the new exhibit space I was asked to aid in the creation of exhibit panels and display cases; this included taking detailed measurements and photos of the space, producing drawings and renderings of the proposed exhibit, and creating panels designs. With the help of Dr. Carroll Van West and Ms. Amber Clawson, we created the initial panel text.
I then gathered images to go along with the text and began to create a viable panel layout, look, and design (see images below). I design a total of 14 panels, and a large decal for the space, which was installed in January 2014.
